Since the 2021-22 school year the Fond du Lac School District (FDL-SD) implemented a two-word purpose statement for our organization - Changing Outcomes. Changing Outcomes for our students, our staff and our community has driven our work and has been central to changes and improvements we have made as a district in the past three years. With the release of the State of Wisconsin School Report Cards, we are excited to share with all of you that we are already seeing “changing outcomes” in our district’s academic achievement. Here are just some of the positive academic outcomes:
- 10 of our 14 FDL-SD schools have shown significant improvement in their overall State Report Card scores from last year;
- For the first time since the 2020-21 school year, no FDL-SD school is failing to meet expectations. In fact, 13 of our 14 schools are meeting or exceeding state expectations;
- Nine FDL-SD schools are exceeding state expectations;
- Fond du Lac High School is now meeting state-level expectations for the first time since the 2013-14 school year;
- Chegwin Elementary is now meeting state-level expectations for the first time since the 2017-18 school year and saw a 16-point score improvement on their State Report Card since last year;
- Both Lakeshore Elementary and Evans Elementary have earned “significantly exceeds expectations” status;
- Evans Elementary was named a National Blue Ribbon School by the United States Department of Education.
We are excited for our students and our community that we are seeing these positive outcomes. Additionally, we are proud of our staff for their hard work and dedication and are optimistic that our district is moving in a positive direction. We know that the State Report Card is just one way to measure learning and growth and that there continues to be room for improvement and that our work in changing outcomes for our students must continue. As we look ahead to the remainder of this school year and beyond, our commitment to our purpose of “Changing Outcomes” remains unwavering.

This data is now available to the public and you can access school and district report cards from the DPI's website, along with resources that explain the state-mandated (Wis. Stat. 115.385) report cards.
