For the second year in a row, the Fond du Lac School District has been honored with the Best Communities for Music Education designation from the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Foundation. This award recognizes strong and lasting support for music education.
Fond du Lac is one of only 37 districts in Wisconsin and 975 nationwide to earn the Best Communities for Music Education honor.
“It is incredibly meaningful to be part of a community that truly values music and the arts," said Amy Kunstman, District Fine Arts Coordinator. "Being recognized for the second year in a row shows how deeply our schools, families, and greater community believe in the power of the fine arts to inspire, connect, and enrich the lives of our students.”
Now in its 26th year, the Best Communities for Music Education designation is awarded to districts that demonstrate outstanding achievement for providing music access and education to all students.
To qualify for the Best Communities designation, districts must meet criteria related to funding, graduation requirements, music class participation, instruction time, facilities, support for the music program and community music-making programs.
